When the School Year Starts to Feel Heavy
The honeymoon period is over. The novelty of being back at school is starting to wear off, and the summer holidays already feel like a very long time ago.
If this is how you’re feeling, I’m really glad you’re here.
I recently posted on Instagram about how I’m not here to ‘hook’ you. Instead, I genuinely hope that this space can be somewhere you find support, reassurance and perhaps even a sense that you’re not doing this alone.
There is so much content out there, and while that can be helpful, it can also feel overwhelming. Sometimes it’s really hard to know what the next step should be, or even where to start.
Maybe you’re a parent looking for support for your child. Maybe you’re a school counsellor who is new to working in an International School. Or perhaps you’re a teacher who is feeling overwhelmed by the emotional load your students are bringing into your classroom.
Wherever you are, please know that you are not alone.
Having lived and worked in several different countries, I know first-hand how challenging this can be. I’ve experienced the uncertainty, the questions and the feeling of trying to navigate things in a different cultural and educational context.
This is a big part of why I set up Child Therapy International so that you know there is someone who can walk alongside you. Someone who can listen, help you make sense of things and offer support when you need it.
And if you’re wondering whether reaching out means committing to something, it doesn’t. I offer an informal chat, free of charge and with no strings attached.
If any of this feels familiar, my door is always open. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own
